Keeping your head on straight (in a world gone crazy)

Have you ever wondered "is it me?" ... there are over countable times in our lives when we simply do not know what is real!

So this is where we at Crabapple come in, whether you're an educator that thirsts to get the kids out of the classroom and into nature, or a travel bug wanting a peaceful sabbatical, or a newly wed couple needing some well deserved space, or a birder that craves a small thatched hide deep in the bush to just sit....and observe....with your flask of coffee - this is where you come.

We share a multi generational love for this place that (believe it or not began off the grid with us kids having to light the donkey boiler if we intended on having a hot bath (you realise the sheer necessity of this sacred ritual roundabout June/ July :)) talk about bare necessities.

As kids we would spend days in the forest and at the streams making up games, the "City Slicker" friends would visit and it would startle us to find that the life that we deemed "normal" was in fact a life that most people strive for today - completely free of time restraints and somewhere your inner child gets to play.

I have over 50 years of stories to tell, adventures to describe and to recount (some quite hairy when there were daily fitness rides for the horses along the bridal paths and up onto the top fields.)

SO let this be the first blog of a long and ongoing conversation until we meet face to face.
